"Our product doesn't merely improve on other music notation software: it lets written music take advantage of the full power of the web as we know it today." (Noteflight 2017)
Noteflight is an application that can be completely accessed online. It allows for users to compose, view, and share their own musical writings from any major web browser. The user may also edit, print, and even playback their creations from any compatible device. It is free to sign-up, and is ideal for the music classroom; teachers and students may share compositions with one another from smartphones, tablets, or computers. It allows for a free and easy source to create and share musical creations with students.
"The Studioso App connects music teachers to their students. With Studioso, students practice with efficiency, correct technique, and structure." (Studioso, 2018)
Studioso is an application that is used to help school kids maximize their practice times. Users that download the app on their devices can set up personalized practice guides and may also track their progress, giving positive feedback on improvements, as well as congratulations when meeting goals. Teachers may also create an account to monitor each child’s individual growth while leaving their own tips and comments for the student. This is an ideal way to monitor practicing in a music classroom, especially because it allows the teacher to safely monitor the students practice times.
"The resources at Musictheory.net are a great way to review and practice music theory concepts." (Hoffman, 2016)
Musicteory.net is an online source of notes, exercise, and other applications that can be used by music students and teachers to develop a better comprehension of music theory. One unique feature of this site is that it has free lessons on specific topics of music. It has excellent resources for all levels, but is especially suitable for the beginning theorists. This site is useful in the music classroom because it gives worksheets and exercises that students may use to reinforce the ideas that have been taught in class.
"From class assignments to extracurricular activities, Remind makes sure you get the information you need, when you need it, right on your phone." (Remind, 2014)
Remind is a communication application that is ideal for any classroom. If teachers use the software, they are able to send messages in real time to students and parents to “remind” them of important events going on, or to reiterate homework assignments. This can also add a layer of protection for communication during school trips, marching band competitions, or parades. The greatest part of this app is that no personal information is shared. It allows a safe area for messaging without sharing the students’ or teacher’s information.
